Physics Courses for International Students

STUCK IN PHYSICS supports students across international physics curricula: IB Physics at Standard and Higher Level, the four AP Physics courses, AS and A Level including the AQA specification, WACE Physics and Singapore O Level Physics. Whichever syllabus you are sitting, the work is the same — understand the physics, then learn to use it under exam conditions.

Written courses are still being built, and IB Physics comes first. There are no invented prices or launch dates here: use the current free resources now, or ask about lessons on your own syllabus.

Choose Your Physics Course

Every curriculum taught has its own page explaining what makes it difficult and how it is prepared for. Start with yours.

First

IB Physics

Standard and Higher Level, taught around the three papers and the internal assessment. This is the curriculum most of the resources on this site were written for.

  • 01

    IB Physics SL

The Standard Level course covers the same themes as HL with fewer additional topics, but the questions still reward students who can reason from a diagram rather than recall a formula.

  • 02

    IB Physics HL

Higher Level adds depth in fields, induction, quantum and nuclear physics. Most students who struggle here are not weak at physics, they are carrying gaps from earlier topics into harder questions.

Then

AP Physics

AP Physics 1 and 2, and both AP Physics C courses. The exams reward reasoning written down in words as much as algebra, and the courses are built accordingly.

  • 01

    AP Physics 1

Algebra-based mechanics with a heavy emphasis on explanation. The exam asks students to justify claims in words, which is exactly where most preparation stops short.

  • 02

    AP Physics 2

Fluids, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics. A wide course where students benefit most from clear physical models of each system.

  • 03

    AP Physics C: Mechanics

Calculus-based mechanics. The calculus is rarely the hard part. Choosing the right coordinate system, the right conservation law and the right level of detail is.

  • 04

AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism

Fields, potential, circuits and induction, treated with integrals and symmetry arguments. Students who learn to see the symmetry first find this course far more manageable.

These are taught in lessons rather than as written courses.

Studying something else?

If your curriculum is not listed here, get in touch anyway. Most international physics syllabuses cover the same physics in a different order, and lessons can be built around yours.

Different Courses. The Same Core Method.

Boards differ in wording, weighting and paper structure. What they ask of a student barely differs at all. Strong preparation on any of these syllabuses means being able to understand the physical situation, represent it clearly, identify the valid model, connect that model to the mathematics, solve, check the result, and then transfer the idea to a question you have never seen.

That sequence is the whole of the teaching method, and it is why a student on the AQA specification and a student sitting IB Paper 2 end up practising the same habits in different clothing.

The free study tools on the resources page are the fastest way to start using it. You can also read about how I teach or get in touch about lessons on your syllabus.

While you wait

The resources on this site are not a teaser for the courses. They stand on their own, and many students will need nothing else.
